The Canadian circuit is a mix of slow and rapid corners with a very long straight which demands a lot of the engines. However, its layout is popular with the drivers because it is one of the few GP tracks where overtaking is possible. The circuit has been modified a few times in the past, involving minor reprofiling of some corners on safety grounds. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The U.S. Indianapolis circuit incorprates long straights and banked corners where cars will go full throttle for almost 21 seconds, attaining speeds of around 350 kmph. For visitors this track is also very appealing offering great views from almost all positions. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The British Silverstone circuit is a great track. Its mix of corners means it is a good test of the all-round abilities of both car and driver, but overtaking is difficult. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The German Hochenheimring circuit lacks character and is basically a high-speed race through the forest, interrupted slightly by three chicanes. It is very hard on engines, but all the devoted Michael Schumacher fans look impressive in the stands, waving their Ferrari flags with pride!!

The Hungarian Hungaroring circuit is situated in a natural amphitheatre - almost 70 percent of the racetrack is visible from any point. This is the reason why it is called "The Shallow Plate", because the spectators are watching the race sitting by the side of an imaginary plate. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The Italian Monza circuit is a fast track which comes down to pure horsepower. A minimum of down force is required. To set the quickest times the drivers must use the curbs. This weighs heavily on the dependability of the chassis and it is not uncommon to see the race leader stumble due to car trouble. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The Belgium Spa circuit has the longest lap length of all and is certainly one of the most scenically situated, surrounded by wooded hillsides and small farms. It is also renowned for its changeable weather and it is not unknown for one half of the track to be streaming wet and the other half dry with hot, blue skies above. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The Japanese Suzuka track is a very technical one to drive and consists of a good variety of corners, then the return section is a series of sweeping, fast curves, where drivers experience high G-forces. Its unique feature is the cross-over which means that unusually, there is an almost equal number of left- and right-hand turns. Formula One 2005 circuits 2 contd.

The Chinese Shanghai circuit, which in sheer size overshadows every other circuit in the World Championship, incorporates 14 wide-ranging corners - an equal blend of left- and right-handers that combine to form a 5.45-kilometre (3.39-mile) lap.
